Roger, it's more a case that your car wasn't prepared for ice, nor maybe
you.  With four very good winter tires, Miatas handle just as well in snow
and on ice as they do in summer on asphalt.  I've ice raced mine (Winter
1995 Miata Magazine article) and find them a blast in winter.
