Scott, I would suggest that you check the rules for SCCA auto-x at
www.scca.org
You might bump yourself from B-stock to Street Prepared
which is much more competitive. The way I read it is
if it wasn't part of your original equipment package
you *might* be able to remove it. But if I were you I
would check to be certain.
As far as the wight goes I imagine it would be a few lbs.
But I do not know. Just in case you hadn't heard you can
remove your spare tire and tools before you auto-x it.
Now that is a big weight savings as well. :)
