Okay, I'm confused.  In your original message, you stated

Then in your letter to the vendor, you stated

>> YOU packed them up and sent them.

If one wire is too thick, then you bought the wrong wires in the first
place based on the description in the ad.  This does not excuse the
apparent shoddy construction of said wire, but it does sound a little
strange.
