My supercharged '90 1.6 (~85,000 miles) has developed an oil leak at the
lower front of the engine.  Mechanic reckons it's the front crankshaft oil
seal but isn't sure.  I wonder if it could be the sump gasket oozing (vain
hope)

Question : has anyone else experienced oil leaks from this area ?  If so,
what was the source ?

As I've got an early 1.6 (with the short nose crank pulley) then I really
don't want to get invasive unless I have to - I've become rather attached to
the crank pulley (as has the supercharger !)
